Billed as the movie of Summer 2024, Deadpool & Wolverine recently arrived in theatres, putting the Marvel Cinematic Universe once again in the spotlight- a universe well known for the superhero team The Avengers.
While they might not square off against super villains, Canadians are in good hands with our own group of energy superheroes (fighting super emissions) – The Electricity Alliance of Canada (EAC).
Banding together in 2021 as Canada’s own Clean Energy Avengers, the EAC is comprised of six associations representing Canada’s leading energy suppliers.
This team is united by the mandate to enable, promote, and advocate for the increased use of electricity throughout the economy to help Canada reach out net-zero emissions target.

Canada has committed to ambitious greenhouse-gas emission reductions (GHGs) This includes a 2030 target of lowering GHGs by 40% so emissions are 45% below what they were in 2005. In addition, Canada has set a target of net-zero emissions by 2050.
At the same time, Canada’s demand for electricity is expected to triple as we approach that 2050 deadline.
If these goals are to be reached, Canada must utilize existing technologies, develop the workforce to fulfill the required skilled jobs, advance developing technologies, and ensure our national grid operates in a cohesive manner.
Leading the charge to realize our full potential, by bringing together governments, stakeholders, and communities across Canada is the EAC – Canada’s very own Energy Avengers.
