On March 9–10, 2027, energy leaders, policymakers, security experts and industry representatives will gather in Ottawa for the Energy Security Summit 2027, presented by the Macdonald-Laurier Institute (MLI).
The two-day summit will examine the challenges shaping Canada’s energy security amid a changing geopolitical, technological and economic landscape. Discussions will explore cyber and physical threats to critical infrastructure, the growing impact of artificial intelligence on energy demand and system security, and the workforce, supply chain and infrastructure challenges facing Canada’s energy future.
Guided by a cross-sector Advisory Council that includes WaterPower Canada, the summit brings together perspectives from across energy, national security, technology and public policy to explore how Canada can strengthen the security and resilience of its energy systems.
