Consulting opportunities: CALL FOR EXPERTS

WaterPower Canada is seeking to add to our roster of highly qualified consulting experts to support the Interim President on an as-needed basis on topics related to the implications of federal legislation for hydroelectricity producers.

Founded in 1998, WaterPower Canada (WPC) is the national, not-for-profit trade association dedicated to representing the waterpower industry. WaterPower Canada members represent more than 95% of the waterpower installed capacity in Canada, advocating for the responsible development and use of waterpower to meet our present and future electricity needs in a sustainable manner. Waterpower provides more than 60% of Canada’s electricity and is the fourth largest generator in the world, ensuring our electricity grid is one of the cleanest globally.

The ideal profile:

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (capabilities in French an asset), and more than fifteen years of direct involvement supporting proponents and their projects (hydropower preferred) comply with some or all of the following federal legislation:

  • Fisheries Act
  • Species at Risk Act
  • Impact Assessment Act
  • Canadian Navigable Waters Act (CNWA)
  • Migratory Birds Convention Act
  • Canada Water Act
