As energy markets become more volatile and electrification accelerates, hydropower provides long-term reliability, price stability, and the flexibility needed to support a growing electricity system.
But advantage alone is not enough. Canada needs to treat water infrastructure, including hydropower, as strategic national capital and create the conditions for long-term investment.
